Dom Cuthbert Brogan is the abbot of the Benedictine monastery of St Michael’s Abbey in Farnborough. Founded by the Empress Eugenie of France, the abbey cares for the earthly remains of the Empress, her husband Emperor Napoleon III, and her son the Prince Imperial, Napoleon.
This talk will offer a rich insight into the workings of an active Benedictine monastery, where Gregorian Chant and sacred music have pride of place in the singing of the office and the liturgy.
Parking
Parking is available on the street around the village and in St Birinus car park
(on Bridge End, opposite the abbey). For the larger events, extra parking will be
available in the surrounding fields, as signposted.
